Moving Forward Together
Navigating through life can be challenging and stressful. There are so many stressors that cause a person to feel like giving up hope, feeling disconnected, unmotivated, alone, fearful, and even scared. I am passionate about helping people discover and develop skills to address life stressors. I meet the person where he or she is currently at and together we will develop a plan to meet his or her needs. I use a variety of therapeutic techniques including, but not limited to, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness and strengths-based approach.
I have extensive experience working with various types of people with disabilities, including physical and mental disabilities. I completed training through Kansas Center for Autism Research and Training as an Autism Specialist and Intensive Individual Support Worker. This training allowed me to gain skills in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) techniques through personal experiences as well as facilitating peer group settings, during which I provided self-awareness skills, developing self-esteem skills, having positive engagements, teaching prompt positive interactions and helping individuals gain the skills to communicate effectively.
